A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
